Sometimes called “adult onset diabetes”, type II diabetes was first recognized in the late 1950’s and is now said to be in epidemic proportions in our nation. Practitioners of naturopathic medicine believe that both the cause and treatment of diabetes in general is largely misunderstood by much of the healthcare community. Dr. Nesbit will present information about diabetes mellitus type II: its cause, complications and treatment options. Ian Nesbit received his Doctorate in Naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in 1994. He completed two post doctorate residencies in physical medicine and cardiology. He was primary professor of cardiology at Bastyr University for three years and lectures internationally on emergency medicine and public health. Dr. Nesbit served in the Air Force Reserve and moved from Billings to Missoula after returning from Baghdad in 2003.
