New and expanded Herbal Foundations Program: add to your herbal knowledge!
You asked for it and here it is: our new and expanded Herbal Foundations program! We are excited to announce that we have added two new sections to our original Herbal Foundations program, tripling the hours and vastly expanding the content. The original program, now our first section, is called SEED and can be taken as a nine-month series or a four-month intensive. The second section of the program, ROOT, is another nine-month program that begins in January 2012. The third section, FLOWER, is a nine-month program that will be offered the end of 2012.
The Inspiration
Make a deeper connection to the earth. Discover the healing properties of medicinal plants – a special and unique part of our world. Herbal Foundations is an in-depth, three-part herbal studies program. Come on a journey with us and experience an intimate connection with healing herbs native to the Northern Rocky Mountains. We will study medicinal plants easily grown in our northern climate as well as some special exotics. Learn how to grow herbs and how essential oils are made. Explore using herbs for different body systems. Learn the art and science of medicine making. Learn about herbal first aid and discover the unique health concerns of special populations such as elders, children and pregnant women. Discover how to respectfully harvest wild plants. Learn how nutrition affects the foundation of health. Students will foster a life long relationship with herbs as we explore the healing power of plants and the study of herbal medicine.
